1、事倍功半:不管是新手還是老手陪同口譯譯員,在進(jìn)行陪同項(xiàng)目之前,請務(wù)必認(rèn)真準(zhǔn)備,熟悉需要翻譯的內(nèi)容,思考可能涉及的相關(guān)領(lǐng)域等,可以說準(zhǔn)備不充分、翻譯不流暢是口譯員的大敵。
1. Half the effort: Whether a novice or a veteran accompanies an interpreter, before carrying out the accompanying project, please be prepared carefully, be familiar with the content that needs to be translated, and think about the relevant fields that may be involved. It can be said that inadequate preparation and poor translation are the enemies of an interpreter.
2、介紹人的重要:一般情況下,翻譯公司都會在任務(wù)結(jié)束后一個(gè)月內(nèi)將費(fèi)用打到賬戶上,所以除了事先說明是客戶當(dāng)場付費(fèi),否則很少有在一周之內(nèi)費(fèi)用到賬的情況。永遠(yuǎn)不要拋開介紹人直接聯(lián)系客戶。就算介紹人允許你這樣做,你也應(yīng)該不時(shí)匯報(bào)一下該項(xiàng)目的情況和進(jìn)展,否則會給人留下一種“不懂事”或“忘恩負(fù)義”的不良印象。另外就是如果口譯項(xiàng)目是別人介紹的,收到錢后一定要通知介紹人一聲,介紹人不求你對他感恩戴德,但起碼應(yīng)尊重人家的知情權(quán),而且特別是因?yàn)橹虚g出現(xiàn)任何問題,往往還需要介紹人出面幫你解決。
2. Importance of the introducer: Generally speaking, the translation company will pay the fee to the account within one month after the end of the assignment, so unless it is stated in advance that the customer pays the fee on the spot, there is seldom a case that the fee will be paid in one week. Never leave the introducer alone to contact the customer directly. Even if the introducer allows you to do so, you should also report on the project from time to time, or you will leave a bad impression of "ignorance" or "ingratitude". In addition, if an interpreting project is introduced by someone else, after receiving the money, you must inform the introducer that the introducer asks you to be grateful to him, but at least you should respect the right of others to know, and especially because there are any problems in the process, the introducer often needs to help you solve them.
3、避免遲到:口譯譯員應(yīng)該比客戶提前15-20分鐘到達(dá),無論如何不應(yīng)遲到。如果遇到堵車或特殊情況耽誤的情況下,務(wù)必打個(gè)電話解釋一下。如果是既遲到又聯(lián)系不上譯員的情況,比較挑剔的客戶可以當(dāng)場要求換人。
3. Avoid being late: Interpreters should arrive 15-20 minutes earlier than clients, and should not be late anyway. If you encounter traffic jams or special delays, be sure to call to explain. If you are late and unable to contact the interpreter, more critical customers can ask for a replacement on the spot.
4、注意著裝:跟坐在廂子里的同聲傳譯不同,大部分陪同翻譯項(xiàng)目都是需要露面的,所以應(yīng)該需要注意著裝,不能隨便搭配,邋遢出場,作為陪同翻譯人員,可能需要跟隨在外賓左右,著裝規(guī)范以正式為佳。
4. Attention to dress: unlike simultaneous interpretation sitting in a box, most of the accompanying translation items need to appear. Therefore, we should pay attention to dress, not collocate casually, and appear sloppily. As an accompanying translator, we may need to follow around the foreign guests. 5、察言觀色:陪同翻譯應(yīng)該要學(xué)會察言觀色,很多時(shí)候陪同翻譯要應(yīng)付的不僅僅只是正式的談判場合,客戶既然雇傭你并支付一天的費(fèi)用,肯定是希望你在生活的各個(gè)方面都給與幫助。比如:客戶看不懂菜譜、找不到洗手間、想要什么東西時(shí),翻譯都應(yīng)該主動上前詢問是否需要幫助。
5. Appreciation of words and expressions: accompanying translators should learn to observe words and expressions. Many times accompanying translators should deal with more than formal negotiation occasions. Since customers hire you and pay a day's fee, they are sure to hope that you will give help in all aspects of life. For example, when customers can't understand the recipe, can't find the bathroom, and want something, the translator should take the initiative to ask if they need help.
6、收費(fèi)明確:中國人一般都會認(rèn)為“提錢傷感情”,而外國人則主張公事公辦。如果客戶堅(jiān)持付費(fèi),一定要說好是一次性付費(fèi)還是按天付費(fèi)。如果遮遮掩掩不敢明說,吃虧的還是自己。
6. Clear charges: Chinese people generally think that "raising money hurts feelings", while foreigners advocate official business. If the customer insists on paying, it's important to say whether it's a one-time payment or a day-to-day payment. If you dare not say it clearly, it is you who suffer.
